Overview
Gëlë-yêtë Sêdè was founded durring the late 14th century in fall of the year 1357, by Zriggink. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Zriggink.
Gëlë-yêtë Sêdè was built using the conventions of Iron Elf durring the late 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Gëlë-yêtë Sêdè is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.
Gëlë-yêtë Sêdè is buildings have been located at convienant points along the rivers Gëlë-yêtë Sêdè was built upon. Navigating the town is therefore a little chalanging as the distance between buildings verris greatly and the broad gravel streets flow where they are able to be made rather than folowing the most convienant paths. The city rests behind a set of well fortified walls, with gatehouses, watch towers, and battlments. Gëlë-yêtë Sêdè's walls are, howeaver, fashioned from stone and timber. While unorthadox, the design looks to be functional to a reasonable degree. With luck, the untested design will remain untested for years to come. The unusual yet seemingly effective fortifications has suffered a visible ammount of structural damage, leaving them effectivly useless. One can't help but wonder why the has not yet effected repairs.
A look around Gëlë-yêtë Sêdè gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring jsut long enough for it to be uncomfortable. Beneath this surface, the people of Gëlë-yêtë Sêdè can be overheard having academic discussions, as well as talking about scholarly subjects in general. It’s quite clear Gëlë-yêtë Sêdè places a lot of value on education and being a learned individual.
